Jonathon Bloomfield is an analytical chemist, turned teacher, turned web developer, turned founder. He teaches, he codes, he teaches coders and he codes for teachers like himself through Scooli, a company he started last year to help teachers beyond just himself and his colleagues. It's his first time in Edmonton and it's all thanks to the support of the Black Entrepreneurship Alliance with whom he's participated in 2 pre-incubator entrepreneurship programs in the last year.

Kelise Williams is on a mission to revolutionize the migration and newcomer settlement experience in Canada. As a newcomer herself, her personal experience fuels a deep-seated drive to enrich the immigrant journey by providing enhanced access to resources. She is the founder of UpRow and envisions a future where UpRow becomes a catalyst for the betterment of every immigrant in Canada, forging pathways to success and fostering a more inclusive and supportive community.

Ehi is the founder of Anutio. She holds a Bachelors and Master’s degree in agriculture, has been a 2 time entrepreneur including owning an integrated poultry farm. She also has an MBA from the University of Toronto, Rotman School of Management with five MBA majors and area specializations including strategy, innovation and entrepreneurship, leadership and change management, organizational behavior and human resources, and consulting. During her time at Rotman, she co-founded the student club Rotman Students Against Anti- Black Racism (Rotman SABR) and two scholarships for black students. Her vision with Anutio is to decentralize access to opportunities for career growth and success for students and early career professionals irrespective of their background. Anutio leverages AI to empower individuals with tools to discover their strengths, build fulfilling careers at any point in their journey, and make a living doing what they love. Ehi has directly worked across 17 industries both in her full-time roles, and as a freelance consultant.



Godfrey Okeke is the Founder and CEO of Awele Technologies Inc, a logistics technology company that makes international shipping of cars and heavy goods as easy as booking a flight online. To pay his bills as a fulltime international grad student, Godfrey helped people in Nigeria to buy and ship cars from the EU, US and Canada to Nigeria. To avert losing 50% of his operating capital in Nigeria to the foreign exchange crisis of 2016, he started importing locally made Nigerian goods in ocean containers and supplying them to businesses in Canada. Before starting Awele, Godfrey was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in 4G/5G Communications Engineering at the University of Alberta, where he received his PhD in Digital Communications Engineering.



Mpho Begin’s curiosity and hard work uprooted her from a rural village in Botswana, Southern Africa where she grew up. She obtained an academic scholarship to pursue an Engineering degree at the University of Manitoba, where she completed both her bachelors and Masters degree in Computer Engineering. She is the founder of Cassidy e-Care Solutions, a digital health company that empowers people with diabetes to self-manage their health outside the hospital setting.
